What’s more fun than WET LEG’s Chaise Longue, the best song of 2021? A cover of Chaise Longue, performed with joyous and reckless abandon by indie rockers SAINT SMALL, natch!
During a break in recording sessions for their upcoming EP You Must Destroy What Will Destroy You, Minnesota-based Saint Small ripped thru Chaise Longue live in their basement lair, and it put a smile on the faces of all who have succumbed to it’s sonic pleasure. Initially with no plan for release, everyone they emailed it to laughed, and said it was awesome. And Why Not?
So sayeth Saint Small, “We love this song, we learned and played it at a show in August, introducing it as ‘an ancient English folk song, the kind Sting might play on a lute’…Hilarity ensued.” With smiles of recognition or confusion. Join those that know, and put a smile on your face by spinning it now. Bonus points and a free Saint Small hat to anyone that identifies the classic rock keyboard solo interpolated into the end of the ditty.
Continue Saint Small, “Sometimes we take life so seriously, and there’s nothing wrong with that. But other times, we just need to let go and enjoy life, and listen to this.” What? Excuse me? Our muffins are buttered.
